Missions in Haiti
North Pleasants Apostolic Tabernacle is actively involved in missions in the Country of Haiti and has been devoted to the work since 1984. Our headquarters church is located in the community of Blaise, which is in the mountainous area on the peninsula, west of the capital of Port-au-Prince.
Pastor Terry Lough met Pastor Agnes Louissaint and found a kindred spirit. Pastor Louissaint received the truth of the gospel by divine revelation and preached the gospel of repentance, baptism in Jesus’ name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Pastor Lough has spear-headed the work of preaching, teaching and training fellow believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In 1985, one of the first endeavors was to construct a church building at Blaise. A school building was built some time later and serves hundreds of students each year. Pastor Agnes’ legacy is carried on through his son Pastor Wilner Louissaint. Pastor Louissaint is dedicated to seeing the Gospel spread in Haiti!
Under the guidance of Pastor Lough the number of established churches in Haiti has grown from one to fourteen and is constantly expanding; one of which is an explosive new work in Petit Goave (Haiti's second largest city).
Our efforts are currently focused on constructing new church buildings on newly purchased properties at Blaise and at Petit Goave. Our endeavors in Haiti have been effective due to the dedication of our entire congregation who has accepted the calling to bring the gospel message of Jesus Christ to the Haitian people. Over the years our congregation at NPAT has received many blessings as a result of being engaged in the work in Haiti.
